MILPULLING WIND FARM

Project Overview

Goldwind Australia is exploring the feasibility for a wind farm development in the Gilgandra, Kickabil and Balladoran regions, near the local waterway of Milpulling Creek.

This project could generate the equivalent amount of electricity to power over 740,000 average NSW homes. The project would provide economic and community benefits to the surrounding region.

PROJECT LOCATION

GILGANDRA SHIRE COUNCIL

The Project would be located 40km North-West of Dubbo, 25 km South-West of Gilgandra and 45km North-East of Narromine, in the Gilgandra Shire Council.

The project would co-exist with the current agricultural practices on the land, allowing cattle, sheep grazing and cropping to continue in the area.

The Windmill Walk

For a wander to enjoy the serenity of Gilgandra, head to the Windmill Walk by the banks of the Castlereagh River.

The walk takes people from the Gilgandra Central Business District to the Coo-ee Heritage and Information Centre. The two kilometre, in one direction, walk shows native fauna and flora as well as a number of windmills that once operated within Gilgandra.

These windmills are decorated with artworks by local disability services, expressing the colour in appreciating how wind has played a role in the town’s history.

Goldwind Australia is excited to be part of the town’s proud connection with the natural wind resource, playing a part in the next chapter of Gilgandra’s story.
